   ADSL INFORMATION:
What is ADSL? - ADSL is a "Broadband connection, it is also a 24/7 open connection to the Internet at a fixed monthly rate - ADSL enable a group of PC's (Up to 10 or so), to connect to the Internet simultaneously, at high speed and to always have full and fast access. You need a normal telephone line to get ADSL, the same line will also still be able to make and receive normal telephone calls, at normal Telkom rates, the line "Rental" prices are fixed and described below. Unlike ISDN - which is also a broadband connection, ISDN is still seen as a "Dial-up" connection and each time you connect to ISDN you will incur a Dial-up cost. ADSL is a very inexpensive and stable way of connecting to the Internet and will allow for high speed, large file transfer over the internet - ADSL also facilitated video conferencing music and video downloads.
Application Process:
1. Contact Telkom to see if your region has ADSL capability, they will confirm this while talking to them online - installation will take up to 30 working days.
2. Order ADSL - Telkom will send you application forms to fax back to them.
3. Contact your ISP to change your existing dial-up account from modem to ADSL, See "Additional Notes".
4. Contact Datakey to set-up the network connectivity, E-mail accounts, Firewall and Anti-virus programs and to connect your whole network to the ADSL service.
